The three ToJ novels reflect that, with Vampires all - more or less universally - dying a horrible death or entering torpor to die peacefully/perhaps one day wake, Werewolves literally all spending their last breath to try and disembowel the enemy that strangled them to death (and possibly succeeding, too, with that seed sprouting at the end), and Mage being nothing more and nothing less than the return of complete and unlimited potential to the cosmos, free of the constricting complex structures formed by the various emanations and cosmic paradigms.

Mage was always, at its core, about possibility. Werewolf was always a game about raging against a different inevitability, spitting in the eye of evil, and disembowelling it with your last breath to try and make a better world for your great-grandchildren. Vampire was always a game about inevitability, horror, the decline of the world and of the self, with no real hope of escape, no real way out, other than a wing and a prayer. Like Mage at its best and its worst, the ending is all about potential, and that's kind of cool. It is the only Judgment day book to actually have a truly positive, not bittersweet or just outright bitter, ending.

Mankind ceases to exist as we would recognize it, and so does the universe, but this is okay because mankind and the universe as we knew them were only pale reflections of the original macrocosm even the cosmos itself was only one emanation - flawed and imperfect - of the macrocosm. Basically, it all returns to its original form. There's actually quite a bit of mention of what happens to humanity and the universe that you've dismissed as gibberish - it's weird, esoteric, and frankly, a little clumsily handled, but it's there. The basic gist of it is that the universe ran its course and came to its end, with the three characters serving a role in helping ease certain elements of the universe back into their correct place as part of the great cosmic oneness that they were mere reflections of and to then manifest as personifications of the primal Three letters that make up the fundamental elements of the universe before merging back into the Monad.
